Health and Safety Awareness Training

The Worker Health and Safety Awareness training will help workers be knowledgeable with their requirements under the Occupational Health and Safety Act. (OSHA). It will also teach workers to identify and prevent hazards and maintain a healthy safe work environment. Training not only teaches about common workplace hazards but included is information regarding the functions of the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC), roles of the Ministry and the Workplace Safety Insurance Board (WSIB).

The Supervisor Health and Safety Awareness training is designed to aid supervisors in understanding expectations of the Occupational Health and Safety Act. They will also gain knowledge of their role in ensuring adequate protection of the workers and legal responsibilities in managing health and safety in the workplace.

Ensuring that all workers undergo health and safety training builds trust and workers are more productive in workplaces that are committed to health and safety. Reducing accidents and injuries is important for good health but it also protects the company from time off due to work-related injuries or illnesses and costly fines or higher WSIB premiums.
